I haven't done one of these in quite awhile, so, a sims meme that's been floating round my friends list:
Q: How long does your game take to load?
A. Between fifteen and twenty minutes, depending on how recently I've rebooted. (I'm super bad about remembering to reboot. My poor laptop.)
Q: When making a Sim, what do you prefer adult male/adult female, teen male, teen female?
A. Adult female, I guess. It's what I default to, anyway.
Q: How long does your Body Shop take to open?
A. I always take all my non-Body Shop content out beforehand, so only three or four minutes, usually.
Q: Do you make more Sims in CAS or in body shop?
A. Body Shop, of course. So many more options available. I only use CAS to get them ingame, or to tweak.
Q: Whats your favorite hair color to put on your sims?
A. Assuming we're only talking naturals, I use a lot of everything except blonde, for some reason. If we're talking unnaturals, then I have to remind myself frequently that I can't put Pooklet's Napalm on everyone.
Q: How many babies have your Sims ever had from one set of parents?
A. Going back to the very first time I had Sims 2 installed, I think I had a family with twelve kids once. This was back when I played with absolutely every kind of decay— motive, aspiration, social— turned off, so it wasn't as much of a challenge as you might think.
Q: How often do you experience a glitch?
A. Horrifying, Lovecraftian graphic glitches, quite often. This laptop wasn't meant for gaming.
Q: Do you make your sims, straight/gay/bi/lesbian, very often?
A. Most of my sims are queer, and of those, most of them are queer women. Probably because I'm a queer woman, and so queer relationships interest me much more than straight ones.
Q: Does your neighborhood have a theme?
A. Greensward Grey is catch-all grunge, neon, retro, goth, etc. Everything I love, pretty much. Afterwards was intended to be a sort of retro-seventies hood based on the aesthetic of Napoleon Dynamite and Edward Scissorhands, but it's looking pretty similar to Greensward Grey lately because I lack self-control.
Q: How many downloads do you have in your game?
A. Not enough. Last I checked, my downloads folder was 3.77gb.
Q: Who is your favorite CC body shop creator (meaning: skins, eyes, hair, make-up etc.)?
A. Pooklet.
Q: Who is your favorite CC creator for build and buy?
A. Aviolina. I also really like Ja's objects and Adele's sets.
Q: How often do you play the Sims?
A. I boot up either the game or Body Shop pretty much daily, but since I tend to be busy with other things they sit ignored in the background a lot. I'd say I actually play two or three times a week, for a few hours at a time.
Q: Do you watch Sims machinama?
A. No.
Q: Do you read stories/comics made with the Sims?
A. I read a few legacies— Beescratch's and Brilliantcat's, mostly, but there's a couple others I keep up with— and I read a few stories, too, but I'm not as active in the community as I used to be, so not a lot.
Q: What expansion packs do you have?
A. All of them, unless we're counting M&G, in which case all of them but M&G.
Q: What are you views on building and decorating?
A. I suck at building and so I don't much like it, but decorating is my favorite thing to do, short of playing.
Q: What is some body shop CC that you tend to over use?
A. Anything by Pooklet, p. much. If you want specifics, their edits of ga-laxy's Mist eyes are the only set of eyes I use.
Q: How often do you need to use “Familyfunds”?
A. I don't use money cheats, it's so easy to get money in the game as it is. I don't even let my sims have Maxis jobs, it makes it too easy.
Q: Do you like doll Sims?
A. I guess? I don't have any but they're okay.
Q: Have you ever killed your Sim(s) for the fun of it?
A. No, I get too attached. I'm sad enough when they die of natural causes.
Q: How old are you? And When did you start playing?
A. I'm twenty-two, and I started playing Sims 2 at sixteen. Started playing Sims 1 at thirteen.
Q: Do you ever base a Sims family after your own home life?
A. Back in the Sims 1 days, I had a family modeled after my own, but now I don't even play my selfsim. She lives in my testing neighborhood, playing pranks on the character sims wandering around, and modeling content.
