TL;DR, now with pictures
Yes, I am remaking my neighborhood, and it's
pooklet's fault. (It's really mine, but I'm going to blame them.) I was bitching to them early this morning about how tired I was of matte Maxisy defaults, so they showed me some pretty Buffybot defaults, and of course I jumped on them like the sad, sad little moo-cow I am. Unfortunately, since most of my neighborhood had a custom pale skintone not affected by defaults, I decided starting over would be easier than trying to fix them all with Sim Surgery.
Yay.
Because of the random hack stew that is my game, Inge's stay-things shrub didn't function as it was meant to. I, being unobservant, didn't notice until I'd inadvertantly destroyed three or four meticulously decorated houses, so before destroying this one, I decided to get some pictures.
Yes, another house built by me. You can tell because the layout makes no logical sense but the outside is fairly pretty. Before Neighborhoodmageddon, this was Duke and Koi Szekely's house. He was a mad scientist, she was his vaguely steampunky robot woman (thank goodness Sim Surgery can make servos pretty). They're two of the few sims I plan to recreate in the new neighborhood (which, incidentally, so far looks exactly like my old neighborhood. Sigh).

The patio. I'm particularly proud of this because the windows there actually work as a door. Most likely this is something everyone else already thought of, but it was a big deal for me, which shows you how low my threshhold of pride in myself is. I put the windows in and layered the arch from the same set over them to make a sort of stealth door. The gate they walk through, but I liked how it looks.

The front hall, and some of Duke's schematics for inventions.

Duke's lab.

Kitchen, exclusively Koi's domain. Their first hour in the house Duke set the stove and himself on fire, and was henceforth forbidden to set foot in the kitchen.

There's a bathroom attached to the kitchen, but it is both small and boring, as well as impossible to photograph, so we'll skip it.
Upstairs hall:

The bedroom.

Is it a sim law that all bathrooms be impossible to photograph?

I actually haven't been playing Sims a whole lot lately. I have messed around with some recolors, and I have quite a few for DOT's 8-poster mesh if anyone's interested, but mostly Final Fantasy VIII has been distracting me. I should do something about that.
Speaking of which..
No wai.

I'll probably share the posters in a day or two after I've made some more, but if you'd like the DaVinci one now I can package it up for you.
I liked the Draw system the first few times I played, but the intervening years have apparently caused my feelings to change, because it's lately annoying the hell out of me. I haven't been using the GFs much and relying on magic more, and of course all the good spells are Junctioned to important things like health and strength..

I keep telling myself I can't play FF9 till I beat 8 but guh... it annoys me so much. And now I'd have to start all over because I've forgotten what I was doing. And Triple Triad is EVIL. I can't wrap my head around it no matter how hard I try. Maybe one day it'll click. That damn math game from X-2? CAKE. I got the dress sphere on my first try. TT? I FAIL SO HARD.

I am probably the last person alive who has never played any of the FF games. The inappropriate staring made me giggle though, glad to see it's not only something sims suffer from. I don't know what's causing the bigger dirty minded smirk, the stare or the sluttily spread legs.

And thank you very much! I never did recreate this house. I should do that, I liked it quite a bit.
