So I still have some packing to do, even though all my clothes are ready to go, but the whole thing is so disheartening that I'm distracting myself with this meme I stole from
fated_oph3lia, even though I think it's doubtful anyone actually cares about these. I'm justifying this one with the excuse that this way I can cough up all this information once and reference it later if I get lazy. Also, most of the people on my flist don't know me that well, and this way if they're curious much of me is laid out for them right here.
So, as stolen from Oph3lia:
You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when?" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.
1. Name: Ravenna. I'm a bit too paranoid to let more publicly out than that.
2. Age: 20 tomorrow!
3. Location: Shifting around a lot lately. Brecksville, Ohio until I was eighteen, then Rockford, Illinois, then Belvidere, Illinois. Then back to Brecksville, then back to Belvidere, and now back to Brecksville again.
4. Occupation: unemployed, writer. Probably not fair to list myself as a writer as I've never gotten paid for it or been educated to that end, but I think constant reading and near-constant practice are enough to qualify.
5. Partner: Ugh. Until a few days ago, Tim, who I met online about a year and a half ago and lived with for several months peacefully. The details are still raw and painful, so excuse me if I don't elaborate much.
6. Kids: Again until a few days ago, Tim's kids, Devin and Rielly, who I think I'll miss possibly more than I'll miss him.
7. Brothers/Sisters: Just one, Rosy, who's three years younger than me.
8. Pets: Two cats. Dougie, a white and orange spotted-striped-wtf cat with two different colored eyes and an attitude. And Buddy/Salvatore/The Fat One, who has more names than The Cable Guy.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
* Trying to get it back in order, I suppose.
* Getting over this whole sad mess.
* Getting back into the habit of writing every day, and writing more than a sentence or two.
10. What did you go to school for? I haven't gone to college yet. I'm not sure if I'm going to. I suppose I should, just to be able to get a good day job. At the moment I'm not sure whether to OMGchasemydreams and try to get into a good music school to study opera (though the way my voice has atrophied thanks to disuse over the last year or so makes it doubtful I could get accepted anywhere) or study something more prosaic. On that side, I'm considering library science or becoming a funeral director.
11. Parents: My parents' marriage is the marriage I want someday. They've been married for 25 years and I've never so much as heard them argue. Despite all my parents' friends eventually divorcing, my parents never seem anything but in love and content with each other.
12. Close Friends: Most of whom exist online. My closest friend, who's been my best friend since kindergarten, is Maggie, who's currently off studying in Singapore. I haven't really kept in contact with any of my other school friends, and even online I'm rather shy and standoffish, so I could only name one or two people I could say I'm really close to, and to be honest I don't even know if they'd reciprocate.
13. Do you drink/smoke? No and no. Underage and allergic to the first, still have some hopes of being a singer to the second.
14. Piercings/tattoos: Ears twice on both sides. I'm considering getting snake bites, but am a little apprehensive because it's going to make it a bit of an uphill struggle to find a job, which I need to do. Maybe I'll chicken out and just get my ears done again.
Apologies for all these off-topic posts lately. I'll get back to my original purpose soon, I promise.

Also! Happy (early, in case I don't see you around) 20th Birthday! I hope you're able to enjoy yourself and do something special.
ps - I don't think there is such a thing as off-topic posts in a journal. Everything is fair game!

And thanks again! My parents had mentioned holding off to celebrate until a few weeks later because of the situation, but I think I'm going to try to just do it now, because the more I wait the more I'll think about why I'm waiting and I'd rather just try to forget it.
ps - I swore to princesshaichu when she made me get this that I wasn't going to use it at all ever, and then I relented and thought I'd put sims things only here. Now here I am doing memes and blathering at people. xD
