Even with two cuts this is a long fucking entry.
Do me a favor. Next time I happen to be talking to you, and you see me say "I'm going to do blahblahblah and slave it to Mirake's mesh," slap me in the fucking face. Slaving to her meshes is more trouble than it's worth. I have temporarily given up on trying to get the bookcase to work (it either crashes the game or shows up totally invisible, neither of which are acceptable) and I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I had a ridiculous time trying to slave my resized book to hers, too, as
gelydh can testify to, since I kept PMing her whining for identification of what I was doing wrong.
I wanted the bookcase anyway, so I made one and just didn't slave it. Yes, it chafes that I have ALL THOSE EXTRA TEXTURES FLOATING ABOUT CLOGGING UP MY GAME, but I can live with it for the moment. What bothers me more is that, since I cloned it from 4ESF's bookcase so that it would be placeable on tables, it doesn't have FT or AL options (possibly doesn't have Uni either, haven't checked). I need to find myself a tutorial on updating stuff.
Aaaanyway. The point of my pissing and moaning about it was to ask if anyone would like it as-is. I personally love the shape of her mesh, so of course I had to make it into a bookcase, but I could be the only one who feels that way.
More babbling, surprisingly not whining. I've decided to go with the sim story. I have no idea how far I'll get with it or how well it will work, but my writing has so stagnated lately that I think a radical change might do it some good.
Mostly I'm excited, but I'm a little nervous about all the work it's going to take. Not the writing, so much, or the posing and picture-taking and (no way around it for a few scenes, unfortunately) shooping, but the content creation. I've already sat down and thought about it, and although most of what I need I'll be able to find in the community, a few things I'll have to mesh or otherwise cobble together myself. I suppose it'll be a good experience for me as a creator, but I am worried that some things may be beyond my abilities. (They probably are, but what the hell.)
Another list, because I make entirely too many of them but what can I say, it feels good when I can cross stuff off. In the order that I think of them:
- finish skin conversions to androgyny mesh (Sin, Maui Wowie, Stretch, Ephemera dark tones, Corvidophile tan skin)
-Aikea Basics 2008 AF conversions
- TF and TM Aikea and Gelydh jeans texture conversions
- more Aikea/Gelydh conversions (some are ready, some are waiting for me to get off my ass and finish their whole set)
-build packages for
ugly_kitties's female Radiateur hair set
- DAUM/Naver separates and conversions
(Which reminds me of something: so far I've only been doing the DAUM textures for females, because they're so fucking girly, but I know some of you like such things for guys, so yea or nay to guy separates? And by 'separates', I mean 'tops', because DAUM pants textures make me want to stab a pencil through my thigh.)
- fix dominoes and/or mesh new ones from scratch
-figure out what's up with Mirake bookshelf slave
- more neon crap (which will probably get done first because it takes so little effort)
- finish clockwork wall stickers (w/
pooklet)
-Nouk several hairs and recolor several other hairs to dishwater blonde
- post error message for TVs on MTS2 so help can be gotten (uggghhhh)
- think of name for sim story so that it can begin
Real life stuff is looking up. That's all I'm going to say about it.

I'm a little wary usually of books that work as bookcases after having problems with one (I think it was 4ESF's one) but that's probably unfounded. If you do it (slaved or not) I'll grab it :D I don't think I even have the original (though maybe I should get it, it's kind of cool even though the textures kind of suck).

I did do one that isn't slaved, it's sitting in my Downloads. I'll upload it in the next couple days, and just replace it when I get the slave working properly. And after I figure out how to update it. I hardly use any custom bookcases now because my sims always roll AL study wants.

I'm totally excited about every.single.project up there and I lack any sort of creative input so I'm going to be over here cheering you on! *shakes pom poms menacingly*
Edit: A definite 'YES!' to dude separates ^_^

As for the sim story, I don't know what to call it, because my titles are usually related to the central theme of the story. ("Solitaire" is about a guy who plays solitaire, "Gypsy Girl" is about a gypsy girl, etc.)
