Survivor challenge part 1

All right, so, confession time: I'm in a bit of a rut with the Fritters. Well, no, not so much the Fritters. Kind of in a rut with the whole game, to be honest. But at the same time, I still want to play it. Last time I felt like this, the Tempus Fugit asylum challenge happened. This time, I'm trying a survivor challenge! Like the one Pooklet did previously, except not as cool because I am not as cool as Pooklet.

Pooklet updated their challenge by the day, which from what I've seen is how most people handle asylum challenges, too. But I'm not doing it like that, because I don't want to. Actually, I tried to at first, but I sucked at remembering there was a cutoff point more specific than 'this seems like enough pictures!' Plus, I don't fancy doing nineteen or twenty small posts if the survivors (somehow) end up being resourceful enough to live that long. So there you have it, a long rambling explanation for something that didn't really need to be explained in the first place. My specialty!


Here is the house where they will be surviving (until they stop, of course). I built it, which is why it's wonky.

Now for the inside, because I like to decorate.














There are tents because I thought it would be more entertaining than supplying enough beds for everyone. Later I took one tent away, because after all we don't want to be too nice to them. They're here to try to outlive each other, not on vacation.


And now for the survivors themselves. First, Kirie Sato, who is Popularity/Grilled Cheese.


Karolina Beetpoot, Fortune/Popularity.


Sophie Cannon, Family/Pleasure.


Stanley Barncastle, Family/Knowledge.


Oliver Obojski, Romance/Popularity.


Beatrice Von Tassel, Knowledge/Pleasure.


Demelza Sweep, Fortune/Knowledge.


And Daisy Phelps, Pleasure/Knowledge.

As with the asylum inmates, the survivors' personalities, interests, skills, and sexual orientations were randomized. Then I sat back and watched them do things.


Karolina: Dude come on, I'm trying to tell you how great I am!

Demelza: *has no time for this bullshit*


I'm not sure if this was because I remembered to wipe the Mystery Sim memories for once or because of a hack conflict of some sort, but almost immediately everyone started trying to First Kiss each other.


For the most part, it went as you might expect.


Kirie: Sorry, bro, you gotta take me out to dinner first at least.


Meanwhile, Stanley tries making his move. Karolina bursts into laughter in anticipation of the rejection to come.


Good guess, Karo.


Beatrice: *is super excited to see the back of Daisy's head!*


Finally, someone succeeds with a kiss! Nearly everyone randomized bisexual, so I guess it was only a matter of time before someone got lucky.


Encouraged by Sophie's success, Daisy tries again.


This time it works out for hir!


Kirie: I SAID YOU JUST HAD TO BUY ME DINNER FIRST


Oliver takes the sting out of the bruise that ball inevitably left. With his tongue.


Emboldened by her compatriots' successful attempts, Beatrice takes a shot at it.


Sophie, though, is a one-person girl, and alas, Bea is rejected.


Stanley: *grumbles about this blatant display of affection*


Beatrice tries again. Persistence is an admirable quality, but um, not so much in this case.


And then, abruptly, fucking everybody decides to play catch.


Eventually Karolina discovers the house!


But only to lounge on the couch. Disappointing.


Beatrice: WHY DOESN'T SOPHIE LOVE MEEEEEE


The first food prepared on the lot: cookies. Color me fucking shocked.


Stanley: Maybe these cookies will soothe the pain of having been rejected by our beloveds.

Beatrice: I don't think a mere cookie can do that much. ;~;


Karolina: Man, I'm great.


Kirie: Aww, cheer up! Look, I'll poke you until you laugh.

Beatrice: Agh no I'm ticklish!


Stanley: Now kiss.


Demelza and Sophie assumed his remark was aimed at them.


Stanley: IT WASN'T.


Karolina: KORRA, WHY, BOLIN LOVES YOU


Kirie abruptly remembers she's a Grilled Cheese sim.




Currently occupying this tent: Oliver.


Demelza: *peers*




Stanley: I really do resent that you are doing that right behind me.


Beatrice: This shower... is amazing.


Tiny grilled cheese: *is existential*


Demelza: Whoa! I am only just noticing now that Beatrice is one hot potato.

Which is extra awk because Bea wants to put her tongue down Demelza's girlfriend's throat. Threesome?




Oliver got hit by lightning and I got excited for a second, but he survived. Darn.


And then proceeded to wet himself directly in front of the toilet, as sims do.


Oliver: Television will sate my hunger.


Daisy: Man, Oliver is super hot.

Oliver: I am flattered, but too hungry to do anything about it.


Beds are on a matter of first come, first serve. Demelza found them first and had her pick.


Beatrice, for some reason, went for the floor mattress.


Oliver: These cooked-to-a-char pop tarts will soothe my ravening hunger.

Gosh, I hope so.


Stanley: Man, I'm tired. I think I'll bed down in this occupied tent.


Kirie: Nope.


Stanley: I really do not care for Karolina.

Uh, she's not the one who booted you out of the tent, but okay.




Daisy: *does not like Karolina either*

Seriously, what did she do? She baked you all cookies, you ingrates.




Somehow, I don't think Demelza is gonna want to sleep there again.


Karolina: Sheesh, you guys, I can't concentrate on building my corporate empire with you doing that right there. You're so thoughtless.

Um so that's it for now. I guess it was more of an introduction than anything else but there should be more soon!

Urgh, the rut sucks, doesn't it? But I am quite pleased with this bunch and I am glad to hear that you are too!

Beatrice is my favorite of these Sims, this time 'round. She's just so pretty! And I love how the first order of business was to sort out who was going to be making-out with who xDDD

I am not really sure how it happened, I'd noticed before with the kid's oven muffins that when they finish eating a crumb is left over and the crumb is actually a tiny tiny muffin, but I had no idea that it happens with the grilled cheese too!

Grilled inception sandwich. :O Oh! I think I might know why that happens -- food is just likes clothes in the game, meaning all morphs have to have the same number of faces and vertices (and the various eaten states are morphs)... so they apparently decided to be cute about it and make the crumb a tiny, scaled down version of the food. XD

Ohh! That makes a lot of sense. I mean, I'm still a bit baffled by their way of meeting the requirements, but it makes sense logically. I've never fussed with food so I had no idea it had morphs!

I was legit thrilled to see Fritters again. and I swear I'd commented something insipid if appreciative - regardless, I'm sort of overjoyed at seeing an animal gif cropping up over naughty bits, all ding-ding-bananas! .... also, batgifs.

:> well thank you very much. I really don't think I'm much of a builder, I just like to decorate. As for the sims, I was thinking of sharing them when the challenge is finished. I haven't shared any sims in awhile, I guess I'm due.

I say go for it, asylum challenges are super fun! At least, I had a lot of fun doing mine. :>

I didn't make Daisy's dress, I unearthed it from the depths of the [gender bender theme thread], but I'm planning to make some more in future because I like making dresses and I expect to have more trans* femmes in my game soon. idk how much interest there is in the sim community at large for dress for M folk, but I'm happy to share if there is some.

omg. Skirt conversions? 8D I for one would love to have skirts for M, any skirts.

Yes. :D I am a sucker for separates. The one I have actually done-but-not-packaged is Io's maxi skirt since I think everyone looks good in long, swishy skirts. I had in mind Amaryll's pencil skirt as well, andI undoubtedly can think of more. I'll have to get back to those, I miss meshing, and building packages won't be nearly so much a pain now that I have a zippy computer.

Oh my goodness, I would adore both of those but especially Amaryll's pencil skirt! I was looking at it myself the other day and wondering if I had the brainspace to tackle a conversion to M. But seriously, absolutely any skirt mesh (or other meshes!) you decide to convert I would absolutely love to have. Mesh converting, other than hair, is not something I can do, heh.

Awesome, I will definitely focus on skirts then (especially since having something specific to focus on makes it much easier for me to stick with things until they're done)! Conversions go by pretty fast for me -- the hardest part is resizing the shoes to match M feet without the shoes turning lumpy and weird since M feet are, in typical Maxian manner, not only bigger but shaped differently than F feet.

I may do dresses eventually; the big holdup with those is flattening out the chest is SUCH a pain. Skirt conversions are blissfully easy in comparison.

Yeah, I imagine it must be a huge pain D: It was annoying enough the one time I attempted to convert a mesh for EF (with actual remeshing, I mean) trying to get the boobs to sag properly. Flattening them entirely must be a huge headache. But skirts! Hooray! I will make so many recolors, you don't even know. *___*

Gaaah I feel you. Fitting clothes for Elder F is the second worst kind of remeshing to do, imo, because of that exaggerated sag. The last things I did I decided 'screw it' and only gave the chest a bit of sag because, really, elder ladies deserve some dignity and undergarments ARE a thing, MAXIS. >:/

Yeah, it is exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness, I feel. Pretty sure that ladies and other people with breasts don't immediately forget that bras and similar things exist as soon as they become elders, Maxis. >:(

Aww thank you! I didn't make that particular shirt, it was made by one of my friends who isn't playing anymore, but I've made other Pokemon clothes so I will definitely share them at some point!

I quite love Demelza too! And also don't understand all the Karo hate, she's hardly done much of anything so I can't imagine why they're so universally annoyed with her.
