sixtylilies presents 'Why I Love Icewind Dale 2: A picture tour'.

Actually, this is quite abbreviated, as I didn't start taking screenshots until near the end of my previous run-through and I'm not very far into my current one, but I think the point is gotten across.

In no particular order. At all.

Yes, by this point, I was blatantly cheating on hit points. I've beaten it before without cheating, and I was tired of Azaya dying in two hits from fallen blademasters.

It is an utterly fantastic game if you like Dungeons and Dragons. Otherwise I think it'd get a little tedious, since it runs on the 3rd edition system.

No, she really, really doesn't. I'm curious to see what will happen if she gets a crush. I expect stalking.

In fact half the quotes there are epic. More games need to take the piss out of themselves like that! Most adventure/fantasy/whatever the bloody genre it is considers itself take themselves far, faaar too seriously.

Jord and Silas are gorgeous :D Especially Jord and how she doesn't seem particularly bothered by her breaking that fourth wall.

XD Right? I picked the "tempting offer" choice trying to get information out of him, which worked, but I had to laugh at the breeding one.

I wish more games would too. The fantasy genre, whether games or music *cough*Dragonforce*cough* or novels, takes itself way too seriously. Which saddens me, because it is my genre of choice, and I can like so little of it wholeheartedly because oftentimes it's just so blatantly silly while pretending it isn't. /ramble

That kind of question would make you want to have a dozen odd characters just so you could see all the answers!

I think that's precisely why I'm not a large fan of most fantasy, the whole taking-itself-too-seriously bit (though science fiction is hardly any better ><) Direct side effect of too many authors/directors/musicians/monkeys taking themseves too seriously? Moar conscious silly and taking the piss please!

Oh dude no, it's not naggy! I'd post a link, but Pooklet has assured me she's going to share them herself soon, so I don't want to steal her thunder.

I admit, sometimes I go back to a previous save and check out the other options in conversations, because sometimes they're so lulzy I have to know what the response would be. XD

I write almost exclusively fantasy, and one of my favorite things is tripping up and embarrassing my characters. Partly because no one else does it and I think it's hilarious. Yeah, from what I've seen, sci-fi's not much better about that. It's a tossup which is worse.

I think, if asked to describe Dragonforce in one word, it would be 'lol'.

That's it, I'm going to hunt down a torrent and wait the million days it'll take for that sucker to download. <3 You rock.

Jord looks like my brand of crazy. :D And I like how Silas's hair looks like he got in a minor fight with a scissors. The alpha edit on that mesh is awesome. :D

It really is. Most of their games have tongue-in-cheek bits like that, but Icewind Dale 2 has been the most constant with it. (As far as I remember. It's been a really long time since I've played any of the Baldur's Gate games for longer than a few minutes.)

Not played any of those games, but they sound like my sort of game *snags torrent*

Makes me miss my game, I did make a back up for my downloads but I couldn't bring myself to delete my downloads folder lol. But at least I've become a lot tougher on deleting, and have possibly got rid of enough to play again XD

They are excellent games, at least in my opinion. Obviously.

I haven't felt much like playing sims lately. Maybe because my game is actually working and not randomly crashing or bare of content. Meh.

I'll probably fail at them though,(if utorrent would work damn it) even games I love I fail at lol.

Yeah always the way, when you want to play you can't, and when you don't want to you can lol.

XD Well, this (http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/DK2-Beta-5.zip) is quite helpful, I'll admit. It's a character editor. I don't use it much, but it's nice to have in a pinch. Or when you get lazy, like I did at the end there.

I loved 3rd edition, I'm only just now getting into 3.5. It doesn't seem too different so far, so I've been doing all right.
